Frequently Asked Questions
Why did Precision Biospecimens change its name?
Precision Biospecimens has joined Canventa Life Sciences to expand our mission, reach more donors, and support even more groundbreaking medical research. This transition allows us to grow with greater resources while keeping the same local service and donor focus.
Who is Canventa Life Sciences?
Canventa partners with healthy donors to provide high-quality white blood cells for cutting-edge scientific research. These donations help speed up the development of life-saving treatments by giving researchers quicker access to the materials they need.
We focus on donor safety and comfort every step of the way. Our advanced lab prepares each donation so researchers can get started on their work right away, making faster progress toward new therapies.
At Canventa, it all starts with donors like you. Together, we’re Giving Life to Research.
Will my donation experience change?
Only for the better! You’ll still see the same friendly staff, visit the same location, and follow the same donation process. With Canventa, we’re also working to improve our scheduling and communication tools to make your experience smoother.
Is my donor history still on file?
Yes. All your donor records, preferences, and previous contributions have been securely transferred and are still maintained under the new name.
Do I need to do anything differently to donate?
Not at all! The process is the same as under Precision Biospecimens. Any changes to the scheduling and donation process will be clearly communicated to you in advance.
Will my donor compensation change?
No. Compensation remains the same. Donors will continue to receive up to $450 for each white blood cell donation, just as before. We value the time and commitment our donors give and are proud to continue offering the same level of appreciation for your participation in supporting life-saving research.
Is the donation center still in the same location?
Yes! The donation center and staff you know and trust are still right where you expect them to be.
How does the donation work?
On the day of your donation, take a seat in our comfy chairs, and let our friendly and experienced nursing staff do the rest. While a small amount of your blood is collected, we use a process called apheresis to separate your white blood cells and return the rest of your blood cells back to your body—all in one collection. The entire process takes only 4 hours, and you will be compensated for your time.
